As part of my research residency at Tate Britain and Tate Modern in collaboration with the Taylor Digital Studio from 2015 to 2017, I conducted ethnographic research, user research, and interviews with more than 50 studio managers, curators, artists and other museum staff who used the studio. These informed my design of a digital community archive, which featured 30 of the first public engagements hosted since 2012 at the Digital Studio as one of London’s first sites for hands-on making and learning within a museum. The archive was published as a public resource on the web using the Tumblr platform. Its design enabled participants to upload their own events over time, and offered studio managers a place to showcase their work for the wider community.
